October Photo Sessions: Celebrating Families in All Their Beautiful Forms
This past October was one of those months that fills my heart right up. I had the honor of photographing six incredible families, and each session reminded me why I love what I do. There's something about fall that brings people together - maybe it's the golden light, maybe it's the shift in seasons, or maybe it's just that we all crave connection when the air turns crisp and the leaves start their beautiful surrender.
Every single family I met this month brought their own story, their own laughter, their own tender moments. From families with young kids experiencing fall traditions to older kids who couldn't stop being silly together, each session was a celebration of what it means to belong to each other.
What Makes These Sessions Special
Here's what I know: family photos shouldn't feel like work. They shouldn't feel stiff or forced or like you're trying to be someone you're not. When I work with families, I'm not looking for the perfect pose, I'm looking for the real moments. The way a dad scoops up his daughter/son. The way siblings lean into each other without even thinking. The quiet glance between partners that says everything without saying a word.
This October, I watched kids spin in circles until they got dizzy. I saw parents hold their kids a little tighter, maybe knowing how fast this time goes. These are the moments that matter, not because they're polished, but because they're true.
Creating a Unique Experience for Each Family
One of the things I love most about what I do is that no two sessions are ever the same. Each family brings their own energy, their own dynamic, their own way of being together. My job isn't to make you fit into some template, it's to see who you already are and help you feel comfortable enough to just be that.
For some families, that means running through leaves and climbing on rocks. For others, it's sitting quietly together while the light filters through the trees. Some sessions are full of noise and movement and beautiful chaos. Others are softer, more contemplative. I follow your lead. I'm here to create space for whatever feels right for your family.
The Magic of October Light
Can we talk about October light for a second? There's something about the way the sun sits lower in the sky, the way it turns everything warm and golden. It's softer somehow, gentler. And when you pair that with the colors of fall, those deep oranges and reds and yellows, it creates this natural beauty that makes every photo feel like a small work of art.
This month, we chased that light together. We found pockets of sunshine filtering through the trees. We let kids play in leaf piles while the golden hour wrapped around them. We made time stand still, just for a moment, so you could look back and remember exactly how this felt.
Holiday Season Sessions Are Booking Now
As we move into the holiday season, I find myself thinking about all the families I haven't met yet. The stories I haven't heard. The moments I haven't captured. If you've been thinking about booking a family session, there's no better time than now.
The holidays have their own kind of magic, twinkling lights, cozy sweaters, the feeling that something special is in the air. Whether you're looking for updated family photos for holiday cards, want to capture this season of life before it passes, or simply want to give yourself the gift of being in the frame for once, I'd be honored to work with you.
I approach every session the same way: with warmth, patience, and a genuine desire to see your family as you really are. No pressure. No perfection. Just real, meaningful moments that reflect who you are right now.
What You Can Expect
When you book a session with me, you're not just getting photos, you're getting an experience. We'll talk beforehand about your family's unique personality, any sensory considerations, and what you're hoping to remember from this time. During the session, I create space for laughter, movement, quiet moments, and everything in between. And afterward, you'll receive beautifully edited digital images that capture your family exactly as you are.
My 30-minute sessions are $199, and hour-long sessions are $299. Both include digital images and access to a print store if you'd like to order physical copies. But more than that, they include my commitment to making you feel comfortable, seen, and celebrated.
Let's Capture Your Story
If this October taught me anything, it's that every family has a story worth telling. Every set of siblings, every new baby, every parent doing their best, every moment of connection, they all matter. And I believe they deserve to be remembered.
So if you've been on the fence about booking a session, consider this your gentle nudge. The holidays are coming fast, and spots are filling up. But more than that, this moment, right now, with your family exactly as it is, won't come around again. Let's make sure you have something to hold onto.

With warmth,
